How To Get An Obstetrician's Attention
After Melia was born and the cord had been cut Dr. Alembek pulled the rest of the cord out and noticed this:
He was surprised and for a split second he even looked a little nervous...but then pointed out that if there hadn't been any complications while she was hooked to the cord there wouldn't be any lasting problems caused by the knot.
This happens .5% of deliveries and is a cause of infant mortality in 10% of those cases.
