From Des Moines to North Platte

Snow slowed us down a bit yesterday...we had to stop a little earlier than we planned and set up camp in Des Moines, Iowa which is a cooler city than I would have guessed.

North Platte, Nebraska, where we are staying tonight, is about what I expected.

We are hoping to be able to make some progress tomorrow. I haven't checked the weather reports yet. If it is snowy througout Wyoming tomorrow as we heard it was going to be on this morning's weather report we may end up spending another night here in North Platte. We're not going to try to drag the Uhaul trailer (which is about as heavy as the van) up one side of the Rocky Mountains and down the other on snowy roads.

Who would ever have thought that I'd be so excited to finally be in Utah. I can't wait.

We hope that, by the time you read this, you are past the worst snowfall. How's the family holding up?

Scattered snow across Wyo on Monday, but heavier snow on Tuesday. Next snowless break Wednesday.

Good luck!!

My bad. I didn't see the tool tip or alt tag or whatever they call it when you mouse over the picture on a web site.

Nice picture. What is it the capitol building of Des Moines?
