It's not the first thing I check out when I come across an attractive lady, but I generally check for a ring after a while. It's a good indicator on how to approach her.
I've heard it described as a symbol. A solid band ring, like a marriage, is eternal. There is no beginning point on a ring, and hence no ending point.
Maybe I'm just so self-conscious I don't have my own ring that I find myself noticing when people are wearing a ring on the left hand. I notice them on television and on the metro.
I have heard some guys just don't like wearing a ring. I can't say I blame them. I can't see myself with one. As long as I got used to a small one, I'd wear it. Just the idea of wearing a bulky piece of metal doesn't interest me at all.
Anyway, it honestly pains me when I see an older gentleman than myself with out a ring. Oh how I don't want to be like him. Is he divorced? What's his story? What's mine?
