As I was explaining my view on the falsehood of the statement: "No news, is good news.", Gary added the final twist to it.
"No news is not good news." I said. "If I put my ATM card in the machine and I get no response, that's bad."
Pausing to let my example sink in, I collected my thoughts.
"Indeed," I continued. "No news is not good news at all."
Gary smiled. "Bad news is good news."
"What? It can be... no, you are right. Bad news is good news."
I guess in this example, a response from the ATM would be good news.
