Mormon Standard Time is what is known as coming 30 minutes later than the specified time. It is not just false doctrine; it is not doctrine at all!
Those who cling to it should be thrown from the Church, head first.
Posted by Michael at November 20, 2003 08:31 PMI've never heard anyone claim that "Mormon Standard Time" was doctrine. I've always kind of thought of it as a joke. I'm not a huge stickler for promptness in many cases while in others I think to be late is rude. I guess it depends on the circumstances. If I'm 20-30 minutes late for an Elder's Quorum social I'm not going to feel the least bit guilty. If it is PEC or welfare committee meeting I am really unhappy with myself when I'm late.
