I went out on one of my lonely expeditions. This one led me to Fashion Centre. Like with most stores in the mall, I can never picture myself buying stiff there. Maybe it is because I was raised on hand me downs, and cheap knock offs.
One year, back in Utah, I was out with a friend. He comes from a pretty affluent family. I was shocked that not only did he buy one $80 pair of shoes, but he got two pair. I could have got 4 to 6 pair at Payless. True, I take the unpopular hit and the risk the shoe will fall apart before I leave the mall. Even I had the money; I doubt I’d shop at places like GAP.
Anyway, the most memorable store was the Tobacco Barn. I could smell it even before I got to it. The horrid smell was so strong I almost hurled as I rushed past. You could smell it on the adjacent floors too. It was quite unbelievable. I would hate to work there.
