I got one of the DVDs from Netflix. It was fairly graphic. I never thought, no , it was just surprising to be reminded how much street fighting went on. That to me would be the hardest terrain.
It is a great way to tell stories from WWII. I am just glad I never was in the war or any one for that matter I suppose.
I met a man once that was there on D-day. He brought it up, so I thought it was alright to talk more about it. I asked if he knew Eisenhower. The old man started to sob and I felt bad for asking.
My grandfather was stationed on the west coast for a time. All I remember is that he cut down trees and painted them to make it look like they were cannons and what not from the air.
