I saw a news report on that what the Iraqi people see on the news - which was unavailable during Saddam’s reign - may be viewed as Anti-American propaganda. This might explain why there is so much random opposition.
It also pointed out the news Americans watch focuses on what Americans want to hear. (i.e. loss of American soldiers, the fact we are kicking butt...)
I generally don't get heated up by news or history because I know I don't hare all the facts. This said, what little I try earnestly to understand about the Middle East, I would almost never say these people met the reasonable person standard.
I realize this is no better than stereotyping, but the whole Israel/ Palestine conflict over land thing is childish. The whole jihad thing is crap. The whole "stand up to the Americans" and die a hero mentality is just as retarded as the Japanese kamikaze missions of World War II.
