I remember reading that President Abraham Lincoln was shot an Good Friday. I thought it odd to call it good that one of the finest United States President's was shot. I figured it was named for something else.
Growing up Easter never meant more than candy and the Easter bunny.
It wasn't until I was in Louisiana that I realized there really were people that only go to church twice a year.
I still miss the point of Easter, I suppose, besides the candy. I feel it means little when Christ rose from the tomb. Is it not more important that He did rise? Dates on a calendar, and I have to add places (i.e. the Holy Land) just to share my distaste for Israel - Gaza conflict, has not the power to save souls.
