Today was a great day, although I’m feeling a bit forlorn right now. It might have something to do with this empty apartment.
Anyway, I went on a “candlelight” tour of Old Town Alexandria. After eating dinner and buying yet another Christmas gift for myself -- which I will wrap up -- I went to Gadsby’s Tavern Museum. I’d been to the tavern before, but the tour gave me an excuse to go see more.
I tried to get people I knew to go with, but alas I went solo. The first stops were fantastic. My Dad would have loved it. The Firehouse and the Lee-Fendall house were not as impressive. Maybe the volunteers weren’t as abundant after two hours or maybe there was not much to show anyway.
I want to go on the Mount Vernon Candlelight tour. Just add it to my list for things to do next year.
