A couple years ago while in Florida I believe, I had observed a family presumably from England. I was with my parents, but I’m sure my family was there too. We had just gone on a swamp tour.
Anyway, the oldest daughter I guessed looked a legal age. I was tempted to talk to her, but how to get her away from her family for a second? She took care of that for me. I recall her glancing my direction a couple times, and then she basically sent her siblings away for a second.
Now was my chance. My parents, unaware of my intentions, were almost in the car to drive on, probably to Disney World. When the young woman asked what I said, as some way of starting a conversation, a bunch of thoughts went through my head.
What should I say? How could I signal my parents to hold on? How could I hook up with her later? If she was from England, what are the chances I’d see her again anyway?
My parents’ car started. I waved good bye and left a perfectly good opportunity.
While at the U, an attractive blond stood outside the math building. I spotted her a way off. She looked like she was waiting for someone. As I approached, I fantasized for a moment she was waiting for me.
When I did reach the building, she turned and started to walk very, very slowly up the stairs in front of me. How can you ignore that? I still was not convinced she was waiting for me so I stopped for a drink at the top of the stairs. She gave me a rather dirty look as she slipped inside a class room.
Last night one of the groups I had joined up with included two attractive young women. I over heard one had been to New Orleans. I totally could have started a conversation with that but I chickened out for some reason or another.
Why? I was stupid enough to get in a stranger’s car the other day. I wonder now if the guy was gay. Great, I must be the biggest idiot on the planet. OK, maybe not.
Posted by Michael at December 12, 2004 08:25 AMThe Florida trip must have been when I was with my parents and grandparents. That would explain why I had so much time to check out this woman.
The Ute, freaked me out, but she might have been a nice person. I'm sure the two from last night were nice too.
