Sometimes at work I come across something very cool. A coworker was passing out this chart of all the ships in the US Navy. It listed the commissioned ships by class and had a profile image of each. It also listed those under construction and under consideration.
Had I paid more attention to the news, I would have learned about these three Sept. 11 “memorial” ships: USS Somerset, USS Arlington, and the USS New York. All amphibious transport dock (LPD), San Antonio class.
The USS Virginia (Virginia class) submarine was new to me.
The USS Salt Lake City must be an incredible submarine. I’m just joking.
It was kind of disturbing that this non US web site knew more about the Navy than I did. I guess that isn’t too shocking though.
