I may have mentioned all this before, but it is a subject I don’t think will ever go away.
Had I the ability to drive – or in other words, had the events in 1990 never happened – where would I be? It’s kind of hard to say. I can see myself drifting from city to city across the states. Assuming I still got in to computers, I can see myself taking mini vacations off on my own all the time.
The freedom to go anywhere at anytime has never been allotted to me. I suppose I could get a cheap butler or something. Being able to drive and assuming I could pay for the gas and what not, would mean no more waiting on others and no more stinking public transportation.
I was looking into going to Monticello the other day. I could take the train… or sit at my computer and dream about going. It would be fun and less expensive to go with others though. Again, I’d have to wait.
A friend told me he wanted to go to Hershey after the semester. I told him to let me know when and I am there.
Last night I could have stopped in on this dance, but my Peapod order didn’t come until late! I still could have stopped in.
“How do I get there? Once I’m there, how would I get back?”
Knowing I had my own car, I could go anywhere and not worry about having to find someone that would be willing to take me, or worse public transportation.
Now after all that complaining, I should be honest and say I have been many places and I enjoy traveling when or often where I can. There is more places than Disney out there where I still want to go.
