Instead of adding my opinion to the debate, I admit I could not recall from where the statement "All men are created equal" came from. So, I looked it up in my "trusty" online encyclopedia.
"...The phrase in context in the opening of the Declaration of Independence, written by Thomas Jefferson in 1776..."
The question recently proposed to me was "Are all [men] born equal?"
I quickly said no. This question has nothing to do with politics, I thought after someone else's remark. Some people are born into poverty, others wealth. Some are born with physical, mental or other defects. How is this equal?
How does one differentiate between born and created?
