Days of Easter week

It was suggested to me to look up the days of the week prior to Easter Sunday to get a better idea of what Easter is all about. Here are the wikipedia links.

  1. Palm Sunday
  2. Holy Monday
  3. Holy Tuesday
  4. Holy Wednesday
  5. Maundy Thursday
  6. Good Friday
  7. Holy Saturday
In some countries, Easter lasts two days, with the second called "Easter Monday". The week beginning with Easter Sunday is called Easter Week or the Octave of Easter, and each day is prefaced with 'Easter', e.g. Easter Monday, Easter Tuesday, etc. Easter Saturday is therefore the Saturday after Easter Sunday. The day before Easter is properly called Holy Saturday.

I think Easter is a pagan celebration. Why don't we just celebrate the birth/resurrection of Christ on April 6th instead of relying on some complicated formula based on the phase of the moon during early springtime.

It all seems so stupid to me...especially when you throw the easter bunny and hunting for eggs into the mix. What a lame holiday.
