Inconceivable, it didn’t die??

“I don’t that word means what you think it means”
This wart on my finger seems to live for ever. After several months of using different over counter wart removal junk, I go and get it frozen. The weak attempts to remove it on my own probably built up it’s immune system, if it were.

Hope fully it is just dead skin that hasn’t fallen off yet.

Fine weather today

Yesterday was great too. Unfortunately, I did not get out much to enjoy it. It was a busy day. I even forgot to take a lunch break… I wasn’t hungry either.

Anyway, the date went fine. I was kind of upset that she came late. When I noticed she was all dressed up, I felt bad when we she told me she came straight from work. We could have rescheduled, but it was great; it was just me and her. She's awesome.

She beat me at bowling. It was quite a work out! I need to exercise more.

Anyway, I was drugged up because the moment I get rid of this cold, I get it back real quick. I wonder if I am passing it back and forth with my niece. Poor kid.

I plan on going swimming during the middle of the day tomorrow so I can miss the crowd from the swim teams. I want to go running this evening. I got to make it through another busy day at work first.

Bowling Shirt

I like busy days, especially when I feel I accomplish something. And/Or at least something good happens.

I did get a few good email messages. One regarding my charity date later this week. I call it that because I was told “not interested but would be willing to get to know you better as friends...”

I figured what the heck and decided to take her up on the offer. She then started to "demand" that her brother double with us. Ok, it was just a request.

What? Last time that happened (doubling with someone's brother), the girl I took out, married a “friend”. It was crazy; she was crazy; her brother was even more crazy. I think we saw The Road to El Dorado (2000).

Anyway, I know this exceptionally pretty, Virginia native's brother and tried to set up a time and what. I hate coordinating schedules, but I figured it was better than sitting at home doing nothing.

When she could not go on the first night I chose, I picked a second while keeping her brother updated. She wasn't sure the second night was all that great either. With that, I threw in the towel... whatever... you want to go? You plan the [dang] thing!

She suggested Wednesday which I thought of doing before I gave up. With my busy schedule, I had trouble fitting it in, but still had no desire to plan it further. “Let me know what time?” Was pretty much the last thing I said... and now I got the reply today… sweet! At least we are going.

Who is Lemony Snicket?

Occasionally I will pick up a book in the Unfortunate series that my sister is reading, read a few pages and ask a few questions. I have heard a lot about the story but nothing fascinated me more than to find out who this author was. Well, according to his web site, he has an autobiography.

Brett Helquist is assumed to be the same as Lemony.

Easter Bunny

Where did the Easter Bunny come from. There were some intersting ideas from this article.

As with Santa Clause, I never really made a big deal about it. I'm sure there were times I wanted to sit on the Jolly man's lap, but it did not take long to realize paying to stand in a line wasn't fun.

I used to love the Cadbury eggs. I still do, but I try to cut down on sweets.

I have learned quite a bit about where Holidays have come from and the traditions some hold. I figure what they do is good in a way, but I don't see how it really matters. (I know it was a vague comment. I'll have to give an example later, when I get/take more time.)

Buzz: area codes

I like Yahoo! for somethings, like this buzz site. It is pretty mind knuming, but it had a cool kid's link... I learned about google's serach feature for area codes. Looking for "area code 801"? What state is that in? (Note: click on the link.)

Jack-Jack Incredible

I watched the Incredibles again. This time on DVD. I enjoyed it just as much as the first time. I also loved the extra feature segment of the baby Jack-Jack and the baby sitter. I thought Edna knew about the baby’s powers, why else would she make a suit that could withstand all that heat?

I found this pixar blog which informed me about a Toy Story 3? Well, I guess Melia needs something to grow up with.

Not my lucky day?

It was fun though.

I put on some rather tight pants... The button busted off before the day was over and I was lucky to be wearing a sweat shirt to cover myself more or less.

I decided to grab a sandwich from the deli before I went home yesterday. I also picked up two single serving OJ cartons. I scarfed the sandwich down before the bus came... I almost choked on it.

I was sidetracked at my apartment and failed to put the juice cartons away first. I stumbled around trying to change clothes when I stepped on my bag. Busted something, I thought. I screamed when I realized it was a carton that I squashed!

I cleaned everything as best as I could or wanted too. I went to an FHE group, not mine, and had a fun time.

Today, so far, was long. Maybe that is because it is getting nice out.

Solitary Saturday

I thought this place would be interesting. The name Anacostia sounds pretty cool.

I've been by the Navy Yard metro stop. Not a very pleasnt place. Even so, I was going out that way... just for kicks.

I then went north by the White House and ate at Old Ebbit Grill. The painting of the three naked ladies was probably the most enjoyable part of the whole trip. OK, not really.

Phrase origin

While talking to someone about my desire to go to Monticello, l was told Jefferson often spent time looking over the University of Virginia which he established. The University is visible though a telescope.

I wondered aloud. "ls this where the term 'Peeping Tom' come from?"

Private Prison

I may have mentioned all this before, but it is a subject I don’t think will ever go away.

Had I the ability to drive – or in other words, had the events in 1990 never happened – where would I be? It’s kind of hard to say. I can see myself drifting from city to city across the states. Assuming I still got in to computers, I can see myself taking mini vacations off on my own all the time.

The freedom to go anywhere at anytime has never been allotted to me. I suppose I could get a cheap butler or something. Being able to drive and assuming I could pay for the gas and what not, would mean no more waiting on others and no more stinking public transportation.

I was looking into going to Monticello the other day. I could take the train… or sit at my computer and dream about going. It would be fun and less expensive to go with others though. Again, I’d have to wait.

A friend told me he wanted to go to Hershey after the semester. I told him to let me know when and I am there.

Last night I could have stopped in on this dance, but my Peapod order didn’t come until late! I still could have stopped in.

“How do I get there? Once I’m there, how would I get back?”

Knowing I had my own car, I could go anywhere and not worry about having to find someone that would be willing to take me, or worse public transportation.

Now after all that complaining, I should be honest and say I have been many places and I enjoy traveling when or often where I can. There is more places than Disney out there where I still want to go.

24 guy

While watching a dumb movie, I made a connection with the 24 guy and the guy in Young Guns! OK, I had to look up the actor after the movie. Still haven't finished the first season... too much in the Netflix queue.

Fools Enroll Here

I thought this was a jole:

"Those who pray the Rosary regularly would do well to be enrolled in the Confraternity to gain extra spiritual benefits for each Rosary they pray. "

I registered a fake name. I guess I don't get the blessings.

Mr. Kennedy

I saw Mister Roberts at the Kennedy Center for free last night. It was intersting to finally go to this place after hearing so much about it.

They play was a comedy and was pretty fun. I didn't care or the swearing, but I guess that is what to expect from some sailors?

Anyway, I met a bunch of people I knew. It was kind of fun. I should go out more. Too bad I don't....

Teeth of the Tiger

It was a real pain to get to Institute last night. And for what? I called almost everyone I thought of for a ride. I wound up taking a cab like I originally planned. All this to come on time?

I had a guy digitize the Clancy book to MP3s. I gave him four tapes and got back 8 CDs? I thought I wanted to minimize everything on one CD. Well, seven of the CDs were CD format copies of the tapes.

The people I wanted to talk to were not even there or I felt I got ignored. Well, one showed up with some guy. She even introduced him to me. I was already with out words. Oh well, I guess I’ll just get back to this book.

More numbers

I did not post yesturday, because of a few reasons. I found out something I had done four months ago was totally wrong and no one told me. I found out on my own... I tire of false praise. I don't like sunshine blown up my rear end. Especially, when I screw up and I have reason to belive it was known and no one had the guts to tell me?!!!

Anyway, I went Home Teaching last night. I was not sure what to expect. I had purposely not tried to set anything up this month and I think me people knew that. During the meeting, I felt everything was cool... I was forgiven?

I remember when I had a penny for every year (i.e. 1996 pennies for the year 1996 A.D.). I thought it was awesome when I had a dollar for every year. I did not celebrate when I had $10 for every year because I can't say I'll ever get there... all these expenses are eating me up!!!

DoS on LDS site?

Did the lds.org site have a denial-of-service (DoS) problem today? It is pretty difficult to login on a Sunday... because most people come home from a meeting that had reminded them to do something with the ward web site or what not.

I tired to get on erlier because I wanted to look up someone's email address. I knew it was going to to bve futile, but I wanted to get some her info now!!!!

Anyway, when I noticed how hard the browser was working, I opened a few browsers and started hitting the same site. Then, just to be a punk, I started pinging the server... now, hours later, it looks like the server died. I gave up being a ounk after a while.

Blockbuster difference

After a very interesting day, I went with my roommate to Blockbuster. I think it is a better deal than Netflix in that you can get new movies like everyday, if you can drive to the store. It only took a few minutes of looking over the selection before remembering why I hate going through video stores. Occasionally, I find an interesting video but I have to look over all this other crap that I’d rather not.

Anyway, back to the good part of the day, I helped clean the Church since I got a ride from Woodbridge. I was then invited to get sweat rolls and was also, by association, invited to watch Robots. It was a pretty silly movie. There were some funny parts.

I got ready for this talent show, not that I was in it, but I wanted to talk to some people there. I was quite upset when my ride came late, but it was actually for the best. I’m glad I did not make it on time.

Natty Gann Journey

I watched this show not to long ago. I liked it when I saw it as a kid. I even read the book, but I honestly could not remember anything but the title and the line “it’s not a dog; it’s a wolf.”

I am glad I didn’t grow up in the Depression. It was depressing enough to go two years or so without a job… Utah’s economy really stinks and that is independent of national or global financial trouble.

I recently talked to a friend of mine. I joked around with him about being a layer (passed the bar) and substitute teaching at an electuary school. I’m sure that is not what he dreamed of either.

Altitude and Attitude

I just listened to the latest CES broadcast. David E. Sorensen of Aurora, Utah was the speaker. I know where Aurora is and I’ve been there twice!

Anyway, I really enjoyed the talk, the music, and all. Definitely one to listen to again. I like to work and almost always try to keep busy with some project or another. I never use “I’m busy” as an excuse because I hate when people say that to me.

I believe I met Elder Sorensen; once at a fireside in Orem and another time in Louisiana. I didn’t really say much to him nor did I shake his hand. He kind of gave me a dirty look, so I thought. Oh well, I get dirty looks quite often.

MMMMmmm ... M&M’s

I love M&M’s. I remember I almost always had them on vacation trips: Vegas, Yellowstone, California. My grandparents would get each of kids our own bags for Easter and my parents would get and still get them for Christmas stocking stuffers.

With all these candies and all the other chocolate candy mass produced, I have often wondered if there was an endless supply of chocolate. Who eats all this stuff anyway? I admit I have eaten enough on my own.

Do the candy companies drive the addiction? I mean if they didn’t make it, I’m sure I wouldn’t. They more they make, the more people seem to want to eat. Once you eat some, you only want more… When will it stop?

Wonders

I played Ages over the weekend. I was doing very well economically. I had built two castles when often I forget or fail because of lack of resources, to build one. I had this wall that disconnected my peninsula from the rest of the map.

My opponent either had no desire to attack me or he couldn’t get past the wall or my armada. I just happened to start building a Wonder. I noticed it was the only thing I had not built. Surprised to see I had the resources, I put a bunch of villagers on the project.

I have been thinking of looking up what these Seven Wonders of the World are or were. In this version of the game, they don’t exactly apply to history but it is just entertainment.

Rain, rain go away

I've been carrying around this cheep umbrella for months. The day I could have used it, it busts on me. Oh well, you get what you pay for. If you add up all the cheep umbrellas I have purchased, I could have bought a decent one!

The rain kind of fits my mood right now. Actually I feel much better… what a lovely day. What a sick thought to take pleasure in a dreary and dark overcast.

I went running yesterday. It was nice weather and I wanted to take out some aggression. I get home and things weren’t the way that I left them. When I can’t find my stuff, I get very upset. And there were other things, nothing new that I haven’t stated before.

Anyway, I just might have to get my name engraved on all my Pyrex dishes. I hadn’t taken this one out of my apartment and already someone had claimed it. Someone left cookies in my cabinet so I am guessing they were informally bartering for my dish.

Ever cause to stand

I went to listen to the latest CES brodcast, but found it not up yet. I started to listen to another. For the opening song they sang "How Firm a Fondation" - which I like for because the third verse matches this scripture almost verbatim.

It was a friendly place to eat indeed.

Enriched OJ

There is a reason you don’t mix milk and orange juice, besides the fact it will curdle. The taste is just disgusting. I’m sure you have taken a drink of OJ after eating your cereal like I have.

I took some calcium pills once. They were white and had a chalk-like texture. They tasted kind of chalky too.

I avoid this calcium fortified orange juice stuff because it tastes horrid. I brought this up with a coworker and he sent me a link to an article on MSNBC. You should know how I feel about stats and studies like these, but it was still interesting how coincidental it all was.

I swear I am almost always learning or doing something new just in time for discussion like this. It’s hard to explain. I was told that once I learn something, I am more receptive but the timing seems so close. It’s like I learn about something and the next day that information is used.

Another GLBRM Elder

I just learned that my Business Law professor's son is going to the Baton Rouge mission. It was great to relive and tell a few moments about what I remembered. It was somewhat sobering to realize that come July of this year, it would have been 10 years since I first set foot in the state.

Waste at the Border

After an enjoyable dinner with Tiffany, I went to Borders to see what I might like to listen to. (Note: If you read the link, the movie in refernce was Spiderman 2. I went during a lunch break once. The other move was obviously Christmas with the Krank's and I went after work to see it.)

Anyway, I only listened to the first part of Digital Fortress and was pretty sick of it already. I got a Louis L'Amour CD. It was alright. I bought Timothy Zahn's books on tape. I thought there would be more than 6 tapes for three books!

I did get a picture book on the Shenandoah Valley. That was nice.

Oakley, UT

I found this place one day while looking on the maps. Oakley, UT is just North of Kamas where I used to go for family reunions.

I rode my first horse in Kamas. I saw my first car crash derby there... I remember one car exploded and almost everyone jumped to fence to help put out the fire and rescue the driver... I think I drove a car there too once without being under my Dad's supervision.

It was near Kamas where I rode my first and only bull. Well, it was not an adult. Fortunatly for me, he did not want to do much of anything. The clowns kicked and pulled his tail. The bull my brother chickened out on, threw the replacement and the kid broke his arm.

First kiss?

One morning outside Scera Elementary, I stole my first kiss. Well, I actually do not remember. There she was sitting on the rail out in front. I could see her from the parking lot.

The doors were locked before school started. There was a space right next to her and I took it. I recall leaning over to kiss her on the check. The next thing I know, I’m on my back looking up.

Did I kiss her, take a punch, and then fall backward? Or did I slip and fall before I got close enough?

What a way to end Feb., with a snow storm! I was a little upset because I was planning on hosting FHE. I was going to make peach cobbler... I figured some people would still get together, but of course no one came to my place.

Oh well, now to look forward to March. What great events will transpire?
