Stupid IE 7

I have been installing Internet Explorer 7 betas for a while now. Each one seems to kill off some feature I have grown to love. I admit they gave me other features, but my Google toolbar for spelling checking is inoperable! That just really bytes. Why can't Microsoft steal some really useful features?

I just hope when the final version is released, my tools are restored or that Google and/or others will fix what the thoughtless Giant broke!

Moving

I volunteered to help move someone. Not the easiest or wisest thing for me to do... I only dropped one box though.

Last time I helped someone move was for a less personal reason. That was when I met her roommate... the one that more or less kicked me yesterday.

Anyway, I'm not looking forward to moving my roommates who are leaving for other reasons other than marriage. How can I not take it personally? Especially, when I only stumbled into that information. I could have been told the day before the move for all I know had I not stumbled.

New River

newriver.jpgNow that I know what to expect, I want to go rafting again. I was planning on just going camping so I was not prepared to go on the river.

It was rather fun. Here are some neat pictures I found on the Internet.

Gut buster

I usually get one glass of chocolate milk, one glass of OJ, and an omelet. This I-Hop menu item comes with three pancakes. It usually fills me up. Today after being in the sun for the Beach Boy concert, I ordered a second chocolate milk because I drank the first really quick.

I felt like Homer. "There is still food left, but I don't want any." I tried to be tough and eat the rest. I then started to feel nauseous. The memory of my throne experience last Disneyland trip was enough encouragement to stop... don't want to go through that again.

Anyway, the concert was great. I got there early because I wanted to look around. I got a fairly nice seat where I could see the stage and still be on the grass. The "security" was pretty silly...

Anyway, once the concert started, I realized I was right under a big speaker. It was unnerving to feel my water bottle shake from the sound waves. Some kids started to play where I was so I used it as an excuse to get "out of range" of the "shock waves".

I thought it was rather silly I was contributing to millionaires who have been making money off 40+ year old songs. They even brought up "back in the day when people actually paid for music." This whole piracy stuff never hurt these guys... but I never really got into this music stuff anyway.

This was my first concert! Well, unless you count that silly Michael McLean concert. A.K.A the forgotten carols.

They poked fun of Brittany Spears or rather themselves. They said they were closer to hip replacement than hip-hop. After joking about Kokomo all the while, they finally sang it near the end. I suppose they have so many songs it would take forever to hear them.

I wore my new FBI shirt. It was fun to see some reactions I got through out the day. I walked into a convenient store and the shop keeper was very helpful.. that was nothing I suppose. Some tourist asked me of all other people around for info on the area I was at. I told him what little I knew of Ballston.

I almost lost my keys. I asked the shuttle bus to stop while I got off the bus to look for them. Luckily I found them where I sat to wait for the bus.

The lady was having trouble scanning my ticket, probably because it was moist. After a while she just told me to go in. I walked around Wolf Trap. Most people took second glances at the shirt, but only one person stopped me. There were a ton of people to keep the cheap people like me, who bought lawn tickets, out of the more expensive seating.

"Do you have lawn ticket?"

"Yes sir." I replied defiantly.

"I'm going to have to ask you to leave."

"Yes sir." I snickered and walked away to another "restricted" area. I just wanted to look around. It’s really not worth paying more to loose your hearing.

Nice warm day. Lots of nice young ladies... tried to approach one, but nothing came of it. I swear I get no reciprocation... I'm getting too old to care anymore.

When I retire, at 40 (when my condo is more than paid off) I'll return and live out my days there. If I get a job where I can work from home, great. If not, there is no way I'll go back to work. I'm not raising teenagers at age 60. In fact, I'm not sure I want to live that long.

This brings us back to the title. I figure a few more of the gut busters and my cholesterol will eventually get the best of me?

Slow month?

Not really, just busy with other things that I did not take time to post here much. I did a couple posts on my other site from my cell phone. It was pretty neat to make quick posts before I went to bed.

I actually did a lot of fun things this month. There is a lot of typical stuff too, but I don't even want to here about that. And the month isn't over yet, I can still find ways to irritate more people I suppose.

I should be going to help someone move today. Great Friday activity, I know, but she is a nice lady. Not that I'll get anythiong from her! :)

Eric E. Schmidt

I recently learned Eric E. Schmidt was the chairman of Google. Maybe I knew that already, but I recently linked a memory from my days at Novell with Google.

I was going to write about some Internet project I saw on my way out of Novell. The team I interviewed with showed me this rather neat web application. I remember vaguely what it did exactly.

It was like an online hard drive. You could upload files almost as if it was a network drive or something. I believe from there you could search through the files... I wondered if that project made it over to Google too. I kind of doubt it though.

Sea Chanter Chours

I went to see and hear the US Navy Band, Sea Chanters Chorus at Mason District Park last night. Why?

Because I knew someone in the choir, I was with people, and it was a chance to get out. It was fun.

The Beach Boys songs preped me for the real concert I'm going to on Saturday. I've never been to Wolf Trap, so I thought I'd go to something I know I'd like.

Another looser Saturday

* Went running this morning.
* Got blisters from my long walk.
* Took a short nap.
* Tried to call a few friends.
* Could have gone to a family reunion if I was home. It would have been fun to take my nieces and nephews there... I had a great time there when i was a kid... the tire swing, the car crash up derby, the bull riding, driving cars and riding horses...
* Going out to dinner with a friend... wish it was a date.
* Baptism tonight as well.... my only social thing... Well, my old roommate came by... got screwed out of a baseball game... talked to someone on my long walk
* Anyway, that's about it.

Let me face the peril

It has been my experience that a nurse of sorts takes me to a room when I go to the doctor’s office. I was expecting a female doctor, but it was a shock she was so young and pretty. She reminded me of this law student I’ve tried to chase over the last couple of years.

Anyway, I had some warts on my hand frozen. She was concerned about my tolerance for pain. Actually, I rather enjoyed her gentle touch as she was holding my hand not to mention she wore a low cut shirt which tended to open up…

I tried flirting with her but waited until she was done freezing. I did not want to get stung for no reason. She suggested I come back in a month…. I’d come back tomorrow! Can I call if I have an “emergency”?

I love apostates

They keep me in check with reality. The reference is also here. I can recall a faded memory that a scripture was brought up in seminary many, many years ago. I would like to find it.

Today was a pretty great day as opposed to yesterday. I got to mow the lawn for my Home Teaching people, went to Institute, and talked to a few great people. Wish there was time to talk to them all.

Well, I best be getting to bed. I still get tired during the day.. I thought I caught up on the sleep lost on the rafting trip in West Virginia. Maybe it is just the heat....

Reference Found?

I went to Gospel Principles because I said I would. I felt I was being somewhat antagonistic.

I was looking for the following in my questioning. I believe there is an Old Testament reference which pretty much states the following, but was able to find it.

"The Lord will never permit me or any other man who stands as President of this Church to lead you astray. It is not in the programme. It is not in the mind of God. If I were to attempt that, the Lord would remove me out of my place."

Good Sunday

I actually came a bit late to Church and thought I was in the wrong ward because of all the new faces I saw. I was rather lucky to run into the few I wanted to talk too. Where do all these people come from?

I had a great breakfast. It was a great way to start the day.

The day "ended" right when Church did. I wanted to talk to a few people, but it was pretty crowded I just wanted to go home... Once there, just another lazy day. Should have taken a nap.

No more web stuff...

This project at work has taken a lot of my time. It's like I'm working like crazy and barely getting anywhere. I do admit, it looks a lot better than what this one person we hired to do it. I kind of wish they would have just let me do it from the beginning.

Oh well, life goes on guess.

Happy Fourth of July!.

We had yet another torrential rainstorm. It took out the power and everything else. I finally got on the Internet like normal, this morning.

The power at work was out too. I wanted to get some work done! Now, I can do it only I forgot the URL....

Should be a great day. We shall see.

July 01, 2006

July is here

A lot has happened in the last couple days. A lot will be happening the next couple days. I had to post something!

  • Took over the NOAA project at work.
  • Saw Superman Returns with some great people.
  • Helped clean out a flooded place from the storms of last week.
  • Broke of a breakfast invite with a beautiful woman because it was Fast Sunday... I just did not want her to feel uncomfortable when she remembered.
  • Got a wedding announcement from an old acquaintance. I had to take her picture off the fridge because I kept staring at it.
  • Inferred what my new calling might be. Find out soon...
  • Tuesday: Might go to Philly? or hiking in Great Falls of Maryland?
  • Could not locate the microphone for my speech recognition software.
  • Need to download IE 7 beta 3.

So much to digitize? Wish I could get transplants to be able to sync with my laptop?
