After realizing last night I had been neglecting a lot, I took some steps to, if not anything else, made it feel like I had done something.
I also got a hair cut. Very short...Just the way i like it at times. I also made strides on restoring my site again.
The evening was just as boring. I like modern day communication, but I rarely get to hear from anybody. With the radio, I can listen ion on conversations....I even jumped in on one.
I keep putting things off... my room needs cleaning, I need a haircut, etc. The more I do with the radio, the more I find I spend my time not doing the other things I want to do.
It was a boring evening. I could have cleaned but did not want to. It has been a fairly busy week so far.
Well, I still have a few things I want to do before I go to bed. I'll do it later?
I got on my soapbox to and from a trip to see some documentary on the Handcart companies. My old friend, Jaelan Petrie, was in this Handcart movie.
Anyway, these other points came up. Just wanted to check if I was right in what I said.
DC and the constitution? It was about voting rights.
"The Twenty-third Amendment to the United States Constitution was ratified on March 29, 1961, allowing residents of Washington, D.C. to vote for president and have their votes count in the Electoral College as long as Washington, D.C. does not have more electoral votes than the least populous state."
"In 1790, Congress requested President Washington to locate the Federal District. The survey placed the southern boundary of the new ten mile square District of Columbia Federal City at Jones Point where the marker was laid on the Potomac River shoreline. The land which George Washington had surveyed for the Federal City was within the capital boundaries for 45 years, from February 27, 1801 until September 7, 1846, when Alexandria was ceded back into Northern Virginia by Congress."
Masons: Built Solomons temple? Not sure.
"The fraternity of Freemasonry uses the allegorical metaphors of operative stonemasons' tools and implements against the backdrop of the building of the Temple of King Solomon, to convey what is most generally defined as: A peculiar (some say particular or beautiful) system of morality veiled in allegory and illustrated by symbols.[2] This is illustrated in the 1991 English Emulation Ritual.[3]"
I had many other impressions I wish I could just export from my brain to my hard drive. Age tends to clog the paths of recall.
I stared to comb my hair so the part was on the other side of which I usually have it. The demo looked good. I'm going to put some gel in and go to Church like that. See if anyone notices.
Personally, I'd like to shave it all off, because I don't like to make sure it is somewhat nicely groomed.
I might have to use gel for a while so it "learns" to stay that way.
Started on the last Snicket book because I lost my place on the Vile Village, book 6 of 13. Looks like I missed some info... cool, something to look for when I go through the other books.
There are just too many interests and not enough time to enjoy everything.
Worked on some Christmas cards, raked leaves, cleaned the house a bit, .... It is hard to believe it is almost December. Need to find someone for the Christmas Carol at Ford's theater.
I had to write that I had a great Thanksgiving...
Now that I got the time stamp, I'll take some time to explain why.
Got a bunch of house keeping items done before I went to some friends to celebrate Thanksgiving. There were a few lulls, but overall it was awesome. Brought my game, Apples to Apples Junior - which is very close to the real version minus a bunch of cards.
The stuffing I brought from a work party spilled out in my bag on the way home. Some got in the car... I felt really bad about that.
Once ready at home, I had to watch some football. It's tradition! Turkey, football, etc.
Then went to the neighbor's for more turkey and good conversation. Like with other people's kids, I suppose I might enjoy having a dog of my own. Ah, give me a nice non shedding, house plant any day...
Anyway, from there went to see a rather silly movie. Granted I already judged it when I learned of it's rating. Thankfully it was edited for TV. Didn't waste my time with really lame scenes.
I failed to see Charlie Brown's Thanksgiving. Oh well,, next year?
I found the Annapolis mall shootings rather interesting. Fortunately the off duty Secret Service guy had his gun. Would have thought there would be a policy about packing it while off duty.
I can see some parents crying about that, but in the case of Adams, who shot the agent? Too bad the kid lived!
The Justice System is too slow and the kid only lives to shoot again. All agents should carry their weapons... except some DEA agents who might shoot themselves in the foot or someone else.
Only joking :)
The other somewhat interesting point of the few stories I read over was the third person shot. How many bullets were fired? Did the Secret Service bullets just pass through the kid... the humane but insane way to shoot someone?
If the kid died it would have sent some fear to these unruly kids of terror. Well, maybe.
Hopefully the kid dies from his wounds. Why should we pay to rehabilitate a terrorist of sorts?
I dislike when people hold onto invitations until the last moment. Well, I hold on to the few I get but I believe I commit to one or the other. If I'm guilty of anything, is committing to all of the few invites I get but only going to one if the just happen to overlap.
AS stated ealier, one initial plan was scrapped. I did not want to make a big deal about it because then I just might get invited somewhere... and I was fine about going nowhere.
Oh well, I mentioned my plan briefly and as "expected" was invited to their planed event. They weren't on the list of which I would have refused the invite, so I took them up on the offer.
Then I get a response about the canceled plans. Why did not they contact us earlier? Holding out for the best invite but got nothing?
Wow, just got uninvited from an unexpected invite for Turkey day. I suppose I should not have referred all these people who contacted me, what I would call "late" responses. One original plan was to have people over to the house, but like with all events, it is better I only assist.
If the counterpart would not have canceled on the Picket House as I sadly predicted, I would have resumed the dinner plans... but I am so not willing to do much of anything. Well, by myself.
Now I can work on those cards for Christmas. Hope everyone finds a spot... personally I'm good with going to the neighbors.
Wow, I just got this Indian food microwavable dish. I thought I'd branch out more today. Last time I had Indian food was over a year and a half ago. I've been out here a long time. This record is pretty much the only one.
Last night I pretty much invited myself to this game night. There are a lot of really smart people out there. And they can read tons easier than I can. I felt way out of place. I did enjoy the view and the company.
I could only answer two questions: One about COMDEX -- where I went once because work paid for the Vegas trip and one lucky guess about the Rock (Wrestler).
Need motivation like I do? Watch Super-size Me followed by a Rocky film. That should do it, but then i need to take time to actually do something.
Walking a mile or so a day doesn't quite cut it.
I went to this concert at this Hebrew Temple in the District. It was interesting.
I got there early and took my own tour of the place. Almost lost my wallet when I fell into the street. I was on the phone after I toured the place.
The songs and dances were great. Can't say I honestly understood them. Some weren't in English.
Overall it was a neat experience.
Academically learning Morse Code (CW) might be good. For possible emergencies, it might be helpful to manually code/decode CW. We live in the 21st century! Computers are great at repetitive signal processing.
Here is my favorite monitor. I might have to move it from it's current location.

I got these records to "study" for this Ham radio test I'll be taking today. Hopefully it will be easy.
It has been a great week. Well, for the most part. Today the weather was awesome, work was good...
I have been listening to these Ham Radio operator CDs. An old roommate wants me to take the test with him on Saturday...
Seems like a part-time job to keep up with all the stuff. We'll see how I do on the test.
It is getting late, so I'll be quick:
* WinFX ships!
* Microsoft mapping goes 3D
* Cool web site? I'll have to get the link. :)
It is a hilarious film. It looks like a Chicken Run and Wallace & Gromit but it computer generated.
I wanted to go with certain person, but prior to a late response, I asked an old friend to go instead. After the late response, I asked her to bring her sister and join us. They backed out at the last minute.
Oh well, the movie was great. Dinner before was also enjoyable. On the way home, I felt ignored. I was on my soapbox talking about the Disney War book. Oh well.
The power went out in my room the other day. I'm not sure what happened but the south side of the house is without power. I got tired of being cold so I turned on the gas heater to the house.
The insulation of the house is not very effective. Last year, the gas bill exceeded a couple hundred every month. Hopefully power is restored so I can control the heat in my room with my electric space heaters.
Almost everyone in the house has an electric heater. The electric bill will be high now. No to mention all the other appliances, computers and what not that are always on.
I just started listening to a "new" Lemony book. Tim Curry makes it more entertaining. I think the story is better too... Maybe.
Yesterday was a rather spontaneous evening. I had a good time.
This morning, i slept in, made breakfast and contemplated going in to work this weekend.... Maybe for a couple hours.
A few weeks ago, I started using my phone as an alarm clock because it kept getting darker and darker out in the morning. I usually get up when the sun does.
Anyway, today I noticed my alarm went off an hour early. I just assumed it was right and got up. Hmm, it just went off again... the right time. I was under the impression that there was a bug with the software and the alarm did not adjust for Daylight savings. Now, I'm not sure if I just imagined that it went off earlier.
I could have slept in. I know I could use the rest. I could go in to work early, but why would I want to do that? I'll be asleep by noon! (kidding)
I have been listening to the Lemony Snicket books. They are kind of annoying at times, then there are some really fun parts... So, I keep listening.
I saw these Diet Pepsi Jazz Strawberries & Cream drinks and got a box of 12cans. I did not know that it was a diet drink, but not sure it would have been weirder.
I had a weird day. I was being weird and thought many more weird things. Oh well?
