Crazy software

I went to Crystal City (got out of my comfort zone). I think I OD'd on Dr. Pepper and stuffed myself on some new bakery experience. I guess I sat in the sun a bit after that. Well, what ever the factors were, I had a yellow alert.

Could have been worse.

I knew the software I was installing had issues but I saw so much weird stuff on the install. I have to go back tomorrow now that I got some stuff sorted out.

Decided to take it easy tonight. No running... bed early... Well, that's all folks. Looking forward to the weekend.

Sweet day it was

I got up early as usual but took some time to read from the good book. OK, the other good book. :) The Book of Mormon. My King James Bible is good to read from as well.

Anyway, I went to work. Kept busy and am looking forward to go back in the morning.

Went on a short run, cleaned up, started a laundry cycle... Sat down to relax in front of the boob tube. I tried not to dread the new comer but as expected I got the unwanted extra sound tract.

We lost a roommate, Billy. Too bad, I liked him. He got a new car and couldn't afford to live here anymore and had to go back and live with his Dad.

I went upstairs to check my email. I knew, or just wanted a response from Amber so bad and based on past experiences, today would be a day she would respond. I was right! She even wants to get together this weekend! Sweet!!!!

OK, I'm calm. Where is the fast forward button for my life? let's get to the fun part. OK, there is stuff to enjoy before the weekend. Like what should I eat in the morning.... MMMmmmm eggs.

New phone?

I'm looking at getting one of these. So I can talk on a regular phone via Skype from anywhere in the house. I'll have to get a SkypeIn number so people can call me. I just want to make sure it lets my login with my account i already have.

Marine Museum

Went to the USMC museum this morning. It was fun to go to a new place. It was built recently as well.

Like most museums, there was a lot to see. Had I been by myself, I don't think I would have taken what time I did to look around.

Then we went by the Potomac Mills Mall and noticed a bunch of changes there too. Namely, a nearby Costco under construction and no Arby's in the food court.

Poorly executed plan to no avail

It isn't apparent yet. I should not fell drubbed (Word of the day today) because as I was delivering the package I figured it might be futile but what did I have to loose? Nothing.

That's all I get: nothing. Should be used to it.

Anyway, went all over after that and finally got home after 11 PM. I don't know how those kids do it playing around all night, every night.

I feel I was hired because they though I was some kind of savior for this project. I've got one idea i want to try this morning, but if it works, it will take some work to fix the site.

Go Google Video

Our ward (C2) had a movie award night of sorts yesterday. It was like the Oscars I guess. Each FHE group and others made a short movie. Here is one on the Internet. There are some deleted scenes because for one, Lael Cox is listed in the credits but he is not in the movie.

I would like to see my group's video again. With the deleted scenes. I especially like one actress in particular. I was glad she showed up for the Oscars too.

I remember some of the movies we made as mission districts for a Christmas zone conference. It was fun.

St. Patty's day

In anticipation that my tentative plans fell through like they did, I tried to ask a couple people out. I got responses like Saturday was full; all booked up. I wasn't sure if I should take it personally.

I then tried to call a bunch of guys who might know of some good parties or what not. None of them responded. I was pretty bothered because i did not want to sit at home all day.

I went running this morning. Called a bunch of people. Learned of a party I could have gone to, but went to dinner with some other friends. I had been to this Indian restaurant before.

What a strange, long day

Figured out how to acess the development server to play with ASP.Net stuff. Wrote another simple web service. I could have been doing more of this along time ago, but I have too many interests.

Went to the Kennedy Center to get in line early. I had to wait for the line to form so I could wait to get inside the theatre. Once inside, I had to wait for the play to begin. It was like a foreign film that I could not fast forward through.

What the heck did I just watch anyway? People like this stuff?

I went back to the Cafe to get my Shenandoah Chocolate milk. Then waited for the shuttle so I could wait for the metro. At the King Street metro stop, I got to wait for a bus.

I was fine until I started to think about how patient I had been. So much waiting... I got off the bus at the closest stop to my place and ran home.

Before I got home, I could smell the wonderful cooked meat smell waiting for me. As expected, not only was the trash not taken out but the kitchen was untidy. And what great thing did this foul mouth, self-outcast do today except fill the house with that smell? And he was getting on my case to clean the place? I do my fair share.

I was also waiting on an email from someone. I was not going to bring up the tentative plan until I got word from my excess of messages. Rather surprised, I did. I brought up the plan and even tried to contact another person. I did not bother to leave a message because I am not his activity committee. Now, if I felt we were friends and felt more included maybe I would be nicer.

If I left a message, I'd only have to wait and I've done enough for the day. I can however, wait on a response to the tentative plans. Because for one, she is cute. :)

Heart stoppage again

Well, it shouldn't be so surprising. Oh well. I got a little crazy. A little? Would have mattered if I did not? Doubt it.

Anyway, I'm going to see Macbeth. Well, I'm going to try. Last time I tried to see a free Shakespeare play, I was far from getting in.

Since I'm traveling alone, as usual, I should be able to get there when I want to. Let's see if I get in this time. Once in, hopefully I like the play.

Out of Iraq

I had seen this sign in my neighborhood. I wasn't sure if they were saying "I'm" out of Iraq or "Get" out of Iraq. Well, until this morning.

There was an email explaining of a huge anti-war protest on the coming weekend, but when I heard the beating of this drum this morning I was curios to see what was going on. When I got closer, I noticed the small band of protesters.

"This is great." I chuckled. "Look at all these freaking idiots who have nothing better to do then hold up signs and beat this drum."

I smiled to them and should have waved as I walked past. Not sure it matters to me if the Iraq war street fight continues. Personally, we should have wiped them all out and taken the oil, but that is why I'm not asked about foreign policy.

More quinki-dinks?

I learned from a work related website that the USS New Orleans (LPD 18) is being commissioned this Saturday. This was about the time I was reflecting on my old job - where we wrote software for the LPD 17. The next day on the bus, I noticed a guy with a New Orleans hat. Later that day, I went to a free Jazz concert -- at which, of course, New Orleans was mentioned.

I went with a friend to dinner. I was glad she wanted to do something because I was bummed my heart throb doesn't want to spend as much time together as I do, but she is busy with all this freelance work. Also, I guess I need to take it slow. I was not surprised my friend brought up the conversation on who I was interested in.

Anyway, we went to a couple stores afterwards. While looking for a strange kitchen utensil, some lady randomly walking by just happened to be looking for the same thing. In fact, she told us of a different tool that actually worked better.

Thus afternoon, I had lunch with a another friend and he mentioned something about C.S. Lewis books and the movie. I just checked my email and noticed the Netflix shipping notification about the Lion, the witch and the wardrobe DVD.

Was it worth it?

Yes. They waste lots of money, why not on me? Just felt like I have done jack. Oh well, it was not my fault the system went to crap. (Those slang terms make a lot of sense, don't they?)

Anyway, I did get lunch out of a friend. I actually went outside into the middle area for the first time. I'll have to go to where the ground zero cafe used to be when it gets warmer.

When things were looking bad this morning, I figured I'd fire off a quick email to the SecNav. Just because I could and I was hoping he was cool. I guess he is a busy guy and had his office respond to me.

Brief Update

  • Quit OAK Management back in January 2007. I think I was more busy looking for a job than when I had one. Next time, if there is a next time, I'm going to get a SkypeIn number so I don't have to use my cell phone.

  • I feel bad for not getting my brother a toy for his birthday. I was out of a job, and he makes more than I anyway. I should not feel too bad.

  • I turned down a job at Unisys to work as a sub contractor for who knows how long, just so I could work at this prestigious place. Besides, I don't think I would have liked that position at Unisys.

  • Went to a training class and got an idea of what I'll be doing. It's not exactly programing all the time -- which is fine by me. I was never appreciated anyway.

  • I learned that after I left, two other key players at OAK left. All I got to say is Ha, ha! Stupid Javie.

Friday was awesome

What happened to the rest of the weekend?

I finally got on the network and was able to do some work related stuff. Of course I also downloaded IE7, Google toolbar and notifier applications. I found this POP3 notifier app that I thought was way cool.

I got an idea of what I might be doing in the future. Sounds like fun.

Went to a party and talked my heart throb, among other people I like. Finally got home after midnight.

Saturday was quite slow. Did get invited to a dinner event at the last moment. That was great.

feel asleep early, got up this morning early, got to to Church early, and most of the day has gone by somewhat OK. I was happy to see Spider but she was one of a few reasons the day has gone by OK. Should have gone to choir? Wish rides came easy.

Tonight will hopefully be very good. Cross your fingers!

The 2nd day

I finally got a computer but could not get on it until more paper work was filled out. It was nuts.

I got a $7 hair cut. Not bad at all.

The room I'm in is so warm... I feel like I'm sweating all day. Not to mention the blisters on my feet for all the walking I have done. It's just those shoes are not for walking.
