Nice Sunday

Yesterday, after spending some time in the Arlington cemetery, I went to the Washington DC Temple then to some Stake Conference meeting. After the meeting spent some time with a Home Techie.

This morning I dressed for Stake Conference but had no real desire to go. Parking is just nuts, but it was better than hanging out at the house. I helped, or rather talked with a friend who was directing parking traffic. The found an old acquaintance to talk to. Finally made it to a spot where I could hear the speakers....

It was such a nice day outside, I wish I could have had the meeting outside.

Oh well. We had our Home Teaching dinner later that day, then spent sometime with roommates and Jocelyn.

Homestar runner

I finally saw my first clip it was at a movie clip/b-day party. It was interesting to see so many weird shows. I only recognized the Simpsons.

It never ceases to amaze me how awkward I must appear. I mean, in this case, how slow I am to someone's witty comments. Either I don't hear them or they use words only I don't seem to understand.

It was fun to be invited but I'm glad we did not stick around for a full movie.

Computer Pirates

I just wasted sometime posting a somewhat libel post. Maybe it was good I did not get it saved.

The pimps, who screw the government out of X number of dollars for doing what, are pirates not merchants. I fill out online timecards but every week they call saying they never got my time cards. Do they not own the server?

I have to email my boss a PDF of the timecard because he doesn't have access to approve them online? He emails it them with a digital signature but all past cards still come up as waiting to be approved.

Landmark Wilson

I got two free Combo's from Chick-fil-A because they sent a coupon to the house for a roommate that got married a couple years ago. I wanted to share and asked a few, but of course, got jack.

This was the second time I got a meal posing as someone else. Well, a month or so ago, I was Robert Anderson (Sr.) because my roommates Dad got mail at the house. It was laying out in the kitchen for a long time before I snagged it. It was an invite to a retirement/financial planning dinner.

Once again, I found myself at Landmark Mall. Alone and wondering how many years will pass while still coming here.

I could move. I should move. I'm so not looking forward to getting "kicked out" of the singles ward. I don't care for little kids unrelated to me.

More content

Sorry I don't post more.

Just have so many interests?

The server issue at work actually helped point out the source of the problem that was dumped on me from day one. Once we get a new server, my job will only be that much better.

Well, I got a few other projects dumped on me. Which is good because I get to experience a bunch of different stuff. I just hate feeling like my hands are tied. like: fix the web page on this site but we will not give you access to the server until you can find it and ask for admin rights.

I got a bunch of scrapes from the hike and all. I'm still fairly sore. I'm getting too old.

I surprised this one "Vietnamese" girl with my age. she thought i was 25! She is a looker, but I could never get involved.

Speaking of which, when I saw the picture of the punk who shot all those people, I made some comment about Asians. When i turned back to eat my lunch, I noticed an Asian guy at my table. D'oh!

On TWIT - which should probably change it's name to every other week in tech or something not misleading -- they said all the publicity only encourages copy cat shooters. I kind of agree.

Permission to speak freely III

I just learned four former co-workers just got booted. It really was no surprise. They promised all this reform and process improvement, but did very little in procurement of new projects. I was even teased about joining a team to learn the procurement art, but I'm not sure the team ever got off the ground.

They had an awesome 401K plan, but it was obvious that the other side of the company was making all the money. The only reason these people or others, did not get absolved earlier was that the Navy stuff was a pet project of one of the owners.

When I started my half of the company brought in 40% of the profits. Followed by 30% the next year and 20% the last year I was there.

Big Schloss

Well, we were close to the Big Schloss . It was a very nice day. I got scrapped up by the hike, but it was great fun.

Yesterday I got "told off" in a manner of speaking. It wasn't surprising though. No news is bad news. Communication is one of my rules.

Work was kind of crazy but it was actually pretty easy for me. i like that.

What else happened? i just got invited to a party but I'm going to bed.

Add live effects button

Where the heck is that button?

I was going through Adobe's Macromedia Fireworks which is pretty similar to the more familiar Adobe Photoshop, and that's what it told me to do. I suppose they spent a lot of time on a previous version but never updated the help file. Well, after a while, I found the button.

Anyway, I thought I had a late lunch appointment. I probably should not have been upset; this kind of stuff seemingly happens to me all the time.

Today's Events

Here is a list of events for the day. It was great. I could have gone over to someone's place to hang out but part of me just wanted to go home.

  • Got a Peapod shipment. My new roommate had never heard of grocery shopping online
  • Went to the driving (golf) range with a beautiful friend of mine. I felt bad she waited so late to eat because I sent her a message about going to breakfast. i thought I had told her about going earlier. I felt worse because I had time constraints that I did not know about before I asked if she wanted to get breakfast too.
  • Went paintballing. It was fun. I thought it was close to "home"and had until 12:30 to golf... We left Alexandria about 11:40. At first I played defensively but got bored and cought up to where the action was. I got pelted square in the chest from Sgt. Marty.
  • Went to dinner with a group from the paintball event. I pretty much invited myself... some silly girls seemingly didn't want me to go which only made me want to go even more. OK, that was probably all in my head...

Strange inspiration

My roommate came to me again about his lost keys. I asked where he saw them last. When he told me of the location, I started to think they might be in the drawer. Sure enough, they where there.

My other roommate just saw me go straight to the drawer. I wonder if he thinks I knew they were there all the time.

Oh well, let them think what they want.

Serious irritation

The maniac went around with his handgun again. Third time I have seen him do that. The reasonable person would side on my case. He is mentally disturbed and needs to be committed or something.

I'd like to get a court order or something to free me from this virus that was forced on me. I objected to his coming to the house in the first place. The emotional distress I go through everyday is hardly worth it.

The whole handgun thing... loaded or not.. causes undo or unnecessary fear.

Either he goes or I do. The easiest route or the less likely route to getting shot is that I leave.

I won't even go into the irritation I get from another person who I feel not worthy of 5 minutes of their time? Or the crap I get from work about fixing a problem i didn't cause nor have any clue how to do so?

The work issue is easy to solve. Well, when push comes to shove... I play the card: "I just wanted the job to get in the building". Then thank them for playing and touch the bridge as I take my monitor and go home.

The other irritation is harder. She is just so darn cute.... But I can only bend over so far?

Stupid People, when will you learn

Last night the Simpson's were making fun of Utah. Did anybody learn anything from the Tom Green trial from a few years ago? If anything that bigamy is illegal in that state.

I guess I can't convince the ignorant world there are more members of the Church outside of the US. Nor could I convince them that Mormon fundamentalists, as they are called, do not belong to the LDS Church.

Are there age old misunderstandings that I keep around about other people? I'd probably say so. I guess I have much to learn for myself.

Weaver Family Farm Middletown PA

Went to Gettysburg and Lancaster PA on Saturday. It snowed the night before. It was cold. My new roommate and I breezed through the place and made our way to Amish country.

Before leaving Gettysburg, we went up the PA monument - which I did not do last time.

After getting some baked goods, a chocolate bunney, buckwheat honey and Apple butter from the Weaver's, we went through a touristy Amish Village. I was afraid it was going to tactless and be be like "watching people in a fish bowl" but it was just an unused house that was turned into a museum.

It was a fun "short" trip.

No Bowling

As always I like to know all the details and I tried to find out what time we were going bowling. I only found out we were not going. I was bummed, but an alternative plan was offered.

Of course I got a bit upset when it didn't start on time. Then I felt a bit affronted when my pudding that I made up was refused. I guess it makes sense now, but I suppose it was too late for me to change how I felt earlier.

Oh well. Hopefully there will be other times to enjoy each others company.

Yeah, bowling!

I felt kind of bad with the plethora of emails I sent but to put it positively, I gave Amber several options. I'm glad she picked one!

Well, that is the plan to go bowling. I'm not sure where, but it really doesn't matter. I'm going out!

I actually saw in the Washingtonian magazine that the Manning's were so nice to get a subscription for me, a place in Bethesda to go bowling. I went online to the magazine's web site to find more dating ideas. So many options... no wonder Virginia is for lovers. :)

Always learning

I have so many interests. It is always fun to return to one and spend time employing earlier things learned... Wish I had endless amounts of time and endless resources.

This month I have several things on the calendar yet I want to get out and use every minute going somewhere or doing something. If not with a certain individual, then with "friends".

It is pretty chilly. It was pretty warm up until now. I guess it is better than being hot all the time.

Jumped into some one's car

Last night I left FHE early to get to another gathering. I asked someone if they wanted to come with but when he didn't want to leave when I did, I decided to catch a bus.

I could have taken one by the time I finally meet up with the guy who noticed I took off. He was not familiar with the area and could not tell me anything as to where he was.

I ID'd a white car and assuming it was his, jumped in. The driver asked what I was doing. That only made me more upset. I had been running all over to locate the guy who could not find the metro-stop entrance.

I ID'd another white car which was not even close to the street corner he told me he was at. I made him flash his lights before I approached the car.

Messing things up

I was so anxious for this day to come. In the moments before I got picked up, I got very nervous I was going to mess things up. I hit the house when I tried to hug her. Sitting on my left so at least I could hear when whispering but I did a poor back rub.

Went on a rather long walk between Conference sessions. It was good to get her to talk.

We missed the picnic. I failed to remember it was Sunday and thought she might be hungry so i suggested we go somewhere. D'oh!

Things happened so fast at the end. I attempted a kiss on the check. I got mostly hair and part of an ear (probably) Oh well. It is all good?
