...so instead of being a "District" -- DC must actually be a STAKE
because it has so many wards. :)

There has got to be a better way.
Well, I spent most of the day training my replacement. I'm wondering if the HR people think I'm getting canned because of the security hole I created... I guess they don't know a bunch of people are getting kicked out so it can't be something I did.
I think I helped these guys out in the learning of my job more so than I got when I started.
If you are closed, why not shut the door? Now I have to waste some time going to the bank during lunch when I could spend it walking around.
Just got home from another trip to Outer Banks. It was alright. Most of my enjoyment came from exchanging greetings with people I knew. Lot's of beautiful women; got a couple numbers...
Got home to a warm house. As was expected the installation, or lack thereof, holds in the summer heat. I'm not looking forward to potentially spending a bunch of time looking for a new job next week.
Well, I should get some sleep. I did not go to work last Friday.
There was a song on the West Wing that I liked, but I could not recall where I heard it before. It is kind of a sad song and the scene was sad. This Secret Service agent was shot and killed by some shop keepers kid who thought he was the bad guy. The agent had already taken care of the guy before the kid showed up... the kid was responding to a silent alarm...
All I could remember was that I had heard the song before. I distintly remembered the words "Alleluia" and not just from Church.
I just watched Shrek with the roommates and it was in that movie where Shrek and the Princess were at odds because of a break down in communication.
Did I hear the song elsewhere?
When I went to the DEA museum, I did like the chart for 2002. It was a map of the country and it displayed the met labs busted per state. I thought it was interesting Missouri had so many.
I did a quick search and found similar charts online. DEA ststs.
Missouri has been a trouble spot for years. See charts.
If I don't wake up before my alarm wakes me up, this woodpecker outside will. He has been eating the bugs off the house. Maybe he should come inside?
I used to watch the Woody Woodpecker cartoon all the time. Ok, just when it was on.
I remember my Dad used to love black licorice. He ate it all the time. We called it lic-lic. I never really liked that black stuff.
He used to like hot dogs. That was until he watched a documentary on how they were made.
His favorite candy bar is Snickers. Milk Duds are a big hit. Oh, and he loves Rocky Road.
I think after all the hours wasted listening to the terrible lyrics really corrupted it. If anything, I wonder if it desensitized enough to think that it is common for people to swear every other word.
When effort is put forth, he can be a very fun person to be around. i just don't think he tries very hard at all. In fact, I think he tries harder not to be a nice guy.
Whatever.
I got this in the email newsletter from the farm share that I bought months ago.
We are down to the home stretch. Less than two weeks until first delivery.
I cant wait to start getting veggies and what not. It'll be way cheaper than buying all of it from a store.
I just got my two week notice. A new contractor is taking over and they want to interview me for the job I'm currently in.
I would think it was great to travel with a roommate on his way back to Wyoming. Not sure it would happen, but I'll look into it.
Well, that was the biggest news out of today... Hey, new TWIT. Sweet.
I had to rewrite rule #3 because I forgot what I said over a year ago. I believe it captures what I originally thought of.
Details are left to interpretation. Good friends would call all the time... Friendliness is not defined because it is a weak excuse for being friends.
I was in denial that half the month is already gone. Now, I'm wondering when I'll post the August weather.
Funny thing is there is always stuff to do. I'd like to travel, but where would I go? Visit my family? Bermuda? Canada?
I was hoping to do more today then my laundry. But I can't complain, I've been out every day. Besides, I need to clean sometime or it will just get worse.
Well, the short peace finally came to an end. It's too bad too. I actually took pleasure in being at the house again. I blame it all on Spencer, the Pious one.
Anyway, helped with some training today. There always seems to be something that keeps me from having the perfect job. It would be a miracle if things worked they were supposed to. I guess, all the time.
No good email, mail, or phone calls. I tell you, this kind of stinks. Oh well.
I often wondered about the millions of life stories that go on every minute. What are people thinking, doing in Hawaii or in some cold part of the world. I know there are people that are interested in what goes in in my area, but I can imagine the millions of others who do not give this place a second thought.
What about would events? How does that background fit into their stories? Or does it?
Can you be completely oblivious to the "world"? What kind of stories would be told there? Who would be interested in their stories?
Wow, I guess it is officially summer because Pepsi has this drink out. It kind of tasted like the Holiday mix. Oh well, whatever.
Yesterday I spent most of the day in the District. Got some sun and got close to some military vehicles. It was fun to walk around all the displays.
I was going to make a post titled "Life with Ana" and explain that it was short lived but today seemed to go well. I'm holding back on a dissenting post.
I'd love my job if the tools would work for everyone. I am sick of banging my head against a wall. It makes no sense why it is not working properly.
I got a bunch to do at home: Keep my sanity, post an entry, watch Beverly Hill's Ninja, etc. I should go in to work and snag my monitor.
Few things I have planned for this weekend. Should be alright though.
Sorry for no daily updates. Went to Philly on Saturday. It was fun. I like taking random trips. We went without a map...
Sunday was rather long and boring. When I first moved out here, it seemed like there were always dinner parties and BBQs all the time after Church. I believe there are a couple... I'm just too old or not cool enough to get an invite. Oh well.
I'm not looking forward to going back to work. Seeing how I am not salary (It's a contract... just wanted to get in the building.), I should go and get a haircut and what not while my badge still lets me in.
I had my Netflix queue down from 200+ to 78 this morning. I noticed JAG and Home Improvement were on DVD now so I added all the seasons. Queue is at 120+ now!
Last night Happily Never after was on while I was doing stuff on my laptop. It really wasn't worth the time, but I'm glad I was busy with other stuff. The story was for kids and the graphics seemed kind of lame. Oh well.
I'm sure I will watch a bunch of these episodes, but history has it I watch one or two then send the DVD back. I sent two back yesterday without even watching them.
I just learned the Eastern Market burned down. Glad I went when I did.
Good CO's need to get in the trench sometimes and see how things are really like. Unfortuntaly, not too many do.
In my last job, the guy kept getting on my case when I told him things were working. Then he always got mad when the testing people found yet another way to break it. It did not seem to mater nobody's code seem to do much of anything except mine of course...just could not plan for every possible attack on the code.
Where on my resume did I put experience with main frame's? The project dumped on me first seemed to require development. The more I dug, the more I realized it was just administration. I had to hound people for admin rights....
I thought it was funny that I argued they had no idea what I was going through. It was admitted they did not know what I needed to do my job.
