The craziness never ends!

I felt somewhat pressured in asking out this 40 year old. Well, when it became apparent I wasn't going to ask, I felt shunted. Oh well.

I helped out with the Family History Center. I had no idea what I'm doing over there, i just liked the attention of the lady who gave me a ride. The only thing I felt I did was give someone a pedigree chart for their boss to fill out. (The boss was asking the intern (probably) to help with his genealogy...)

Anyway, helped a friend go Home Teaching tonight. I love the two women we met with. Josh is a good guy too.

I pigged out on some cheesy chili and chips and of course, Dr. Pepper.... then attempted to pickup some veggies but didn't take any because I figured I'd just toss them anyway.

I should get to bed earlier tonight. Been going to bed around midnight lately.

Strenuous day

Mowed the lawn for FHE. I got more worked up trying to start the mower. I'm glad I got the mower started... wish the yard was greener.

TWIT has gotten pretty silly. Well, so far it is OK. Not sure I'll ever get any Mac hardware. I do like iTunes (software), but it doesn't make sense to buy expensive hardware.

Time for bed? Maybe. Should get some sleep though.

Last Sunday

I was officially kicked out of the singles ward today. Went to some new member social of the family ward. It was crazy.

I wanted more hugs than i got, but I wasn't expecting much of anything.

Going to a party to see off a friend. Wish I had more invites to stuff.

The Pirate Coast

Cool, I just started listening to a book I downloaded from a website I have access to. I thought it was a pretty cool idea. I like listening to books, especially for free!

Anyway, my leg is healing. I hope to try running a bit tomorrow. Don't want to over do it.

Tonight I was tricked into thinking there was a party/BBQ. Oh well, it was worth a shot to try and doing something social.

I wonder how true the book is. It sounds pretty raunchy. Hopefully not too bad.

Great Learning Day

I learned how to map local drives when you remote desktoped to another machine. That was like the coolest thing... Wished I'd known about that before.

I want to bug them for more to do. I was a but offended when I was talked down too, so to speak. Without clear objectives, it is hard to stay focused.

It was fun to write a simple ASP.Net PickList control, but I want to be "pushed" or "challenged". I need to be more sociable too.

Chocolate Muffins

I made muffins from a brownie mix by adding an extra egg. I love my gigantic muffin pan. Makes 6 big muffins at once: blueberry, poppy seed, and now chocolate!

Made them way late though. I tried to get the oil earlier, but no one returned any of my calls when I wanted them to.

It was a rather nice evening. Not to hot or muggy. Hopefully it will stay this way for a while.

I am a Virginian now

I recently got a new state issued ID. My other one expired and I was getting somewhat hassled for it.

It is getting warm again. I need to find a place to cool off until my leg heals. Maybe I should go to WebMD; see what they say.

Well, nothing new except getting kicked out of the ward soon. I'm not that happy about it, but seeing all the kids that come in; I guess it is time to leave.

Still wounded but not a prisoner anymore

Got up way early this morning to do a load of clothes. I forgot to do it last night after spending the evening with the Tanner family.

I think I'll hang out a work today because it is so muggy in this house. I'm glad I got a job so I'm not sitting around here all day or running around in a suit.

I got an email from an "old flame" who is in Turkey now for work. She seems to like it. I'm sure she will also do some good missionary work. That is what she did here.

Trick challenge

Walked all day in Philly this last Saturday. it was a lot of fun even though it hurt at the end. I got injured playing Frisbee over a week ago and it still seems to bother me.

King Tut was at BYU years ago. I remember being more fascinated with it when I was a kid. I think there was more on display than the stuff they had in Philly.

Work will be a good challenge on many levels. It has so far, and I can't expect that to change. I'm just leery they will one day say that I deceived them in the interview process when in fact I did not. I told them straight up what I can do; there inferences are not my responsibility.

They kept referring to poorly rated (by the real computer geeks out there) articles I posted on CodeProject years ago. I honestly haven't looked at that one in question since I wrote it. I have little doubt I'll be asked to do the unreasonable; I just hope for some time when needed.

More veggies!!!

I'm not sure why I chose to get all these veggies. I'm not planning on eating most of them. I was planning to eat healthier... and I have?

I gave most of the unwanted veggies to a friend who helped me pickup the stuff. I tossed last weeks out back.

It was good someone liked the veggies. I'm waiting for tomatoes and onions.

It's raining again. Good, it should help veggies!

Sorry, no post for you

Went to King's Dominion, Had lunch and dinner with friends, started a new job.... I'm so glad I turned down this one job months back. I wanted to enjoy work and I have.

100th TWIT podcast? It was pretty funny and informative.

Lot's of word podcasts I haven't listened to either. Too much to do! Oh, my laundry!

Disconnected from reality

I know someone who told me that most people would starve if they were forced to live without grocery stores and the like. He referenced animal preparation, but last night when I picked up the vegetables... I thought the very thing.

What is this? What do i do with it? Do I eat the leaves? Chop up the roots?

I then started to eat the blueberry muffins I made from a box of ingredients.

Greatest birthday ever?

If not, this year is pretty close.

Just got a job offer. Start after I go to King's Dominion. (Assuming all goes well.)

I didn't really try to hard to look for a new job. I still talked with a bunch of people. They contacted me!

Slow day

I am still sore from my brief swim yesterday. Would have gone again today had I known my ride to the Storehouse would cancel. Just offered to help because I could.

I even reed my lunch date to help out. Now, I wish I would not have rescheduled.

I just got a call from someone else I had invited for lunch, but she lives far way with no car. D'oh!

I have nothing planned for the evening. I just want this day to end already. It is only 11 am!

Swimming for free?

The small pools in Outer banks gave me the false sense of security that I could swim pretty good. I want to go swimming more.

I tried to use my swim pass to get in to the local pool. I wasn't sure it would work because I bought it years ago.

I need to figure out how to add credits... even if I could hack the system, I'd still have to push myself to get to the pool.

Anyway, I was only able to swim a few laps. I'll need to go more often and earlier in the day.

Fun days off

I just got two phone calls from recruiters. One was for a job in Tampa, Florida. It appealed to my desire to see a different perspective. The second call was about Java which I wanted to turn down immediately but had to find out where it was. Once I found out, i figured there was no way anyway.

Security of knowing logistics is better than a new perspective? This Tampa job could have been in boonyville or far from public transportation.

I like this area because there are no shortage of tech jobs. I got some random tip from some guy who I emailed on accident. (I was trying to email someone else...) And I got some Army phone interview lined up. It would be rather fun to get back to the Pentagon .

Lame books

I tried to listen to the Card book, but it got progressively worse. Finally, I just stopped listening. Maybe it was a sign the other day when I forgot to pause the story before falling asleep.

I dislike the Clancy tough guy books in general. Sometimes, i admit they are interesting but it bugs me so much for some reason. Or two.

Borders and Barnes and Noble are awesome because I can read part of the book then put it back if I don't like it... without paying a dime.

Hot day but fun

Woke up to notice that I had put my headphones down without pausing the book. So, it played all night.

I went to Fort Ward because I was bored and there was a Civil War thing going on. I missed out on a free breakfast. Then, I went to watch a movie with a friend.

At home, I talked to my roommates. My favorite one, as expected or should have been, bugged me. I eventually made my way upstairs to listen to the book I started last night.

Pirates 3

I'm glad I only paid $6 for he 10am showing at the AMC. It was very silly. I hope that was the last of those movies.

When I got home, I checked my email... No Skype calls. Well, I just got one but could not hear/say anything. D'oh! Should have just let the answering machine get it.

Well, I've been listening to a book. It's hypnotic. I am hooked on the story. There are some books I have been salivating over some new books.
