With the continual growth of speech recognition software and podcasts, you would think some one out there is working on a way to search audio files in "real time'. It would have to create a temporary transcript, then search the text. It seems possible and very useful.
Imagine what you could do with that. I guess it would be hard to break down if there was music in the background.
Someone can figure out a way. Wish I had the time and the desire, I'd do it myself.
I get kind of disappointed with TWIT anymore because they talk about a lot of stuff that isn't news or new. I really don't like to hear them say there is no news when I discover some new feature or other bit of info.
* Mars buys Wrigley - It's not tech news, but I kind of like hearing those stories. I wonder what the board room conversations were/are like.
* Facebook chat - Not sure I'd ever use it, but I thought it was neat.
* Feature news - I know there was other features I discovered that I was hoping they would expound upon.
In their defense, they do talk about some interesting stuff.
It got a bit chilly again. Which is good in a way. I'm not ready to melt this summer. I wanted to move out by now, but looks like that will not happen for a while.
Well, I think I can get rid of all these buns at FHE tonight. They are from Saturday's BBQ. Maybe Princess will be there.
Hopefully work will be fun. I'm looking forward for the weeks to come. Anyway, hard to believe I have been out here for so long.
Almost got 200 friends on Facebook. Need 800 more!
Went to the Nay Yard the other day. It was pretty neat. I think my Dad would like to see it although he claims he has. I'm thinking he is thinking about the Navy Memorial.
Had a couple BBQ's this weekend. It turned out to be a pretty good weekend after all. I just felt like there was nothing last Wednesday or so.
I had a bunch of stuff to do this morning before work. Not sure I even want to go in....
I had to work on some organization junk for the OBX house. My friend posted new stuff about her Africa tour which I just had to read and comment on. I had email a few Marines. And I had to do a quick post of my own.
The weekend looks scarce of events but oh well?
Got lots of rain -- which is good. It came out of nowhere and dropped the temperature about 20 degrees.
I wish I had fun things to do at the house not at my computer. Oh well, I made a few calls.
Well, I guess I'll post something. Work is slow: dig a hole and fill it up.
* Costco run

* Walked around DC temple; Ran into an old friend
* Goodbye dinner at Thai restaurant
* Gladys Knight concert
* Baptism; BBQ; Pirate Party; Hooters; UFC
* Church; HT?; Elder Ballard fireside for military
Prior to leaving work, I got an invite to go out on the Potomac. It was fun although I was scared to drive faster than 20 naughts or was it mph?
We went out fir just an hour, but it was good enough for me.
It was neat to see the planes landing and even saw Marine 1 leave the base.
I got no good email yesterday. I talked with a bunch of friends... but this morning I'm wishing for some love. :)
The other day someone at work came up to me and she said she wanted to meet me. OK, that was weird. Then when I found out what office she was in I guess it wasn't so weird. I was trying to hot on someone before that person left for another job.
It's going to be a long time to the weekend. I'll have to do something or I'm going to go crazy. I go by the above mentioned office and say hi.
I was thinking about the Condo in Orem. I remembered when the Thomas's came over to give me pictures to cover the bare wall. I'm not sure if the pictures are still up or if the tenets took them down.
It's been a while since I have seen the place. And even longer since I have been inside.
Maybe in 10 years I will return. I'm not sure what is going to happen; but that is what everyone would like to know? The future.
It was funny I was recently thinking about POP and how we used to play this Diner game as kids. The Diner was the kitchen and we drew up little menus and served each other. I remember we called malts a slice of bread with butter on it.
POP was series of short scripts from potentially bigger plays, we put together and acted out. I admit a few of them were adaptations from skits we did at Scout camp.
I was just asked about POP and, of course, I remembered. Had I been asked months earlier, I might not have recalled it so fast.
Listened to the latest Ensign. I thought it was rather cool that my Mission President was mentioned in the First Presidency message. I also liked the article on DC.
I was rather upset when I heard the article about this little girl getting slapped by her father. I went to read from the article to see if I heard what I thought I did. I was going to give the guy a break if he wasn't a member.
He apparently was LDS. It was a good thing the author's name was withheld. I'd be one of those busting down the father's door and slap him to death or to serious bodily harm.
So many a-holes can have families and I can not. It's bullshiz.
Never thought I would do this but after listening to the same stuff over and over... I'm trying to figure out what I got on my hard drive.
I'm even curious about buying stuff, but when it comes to my wallet, I manage to ignore a lot of things -- which reminds me. The other day I saw a documentary of the drug problem in Happy Valley.
I can not relate to rich kids who got into drugs because they were bored nor did I know any druggies or experimental druggies. I'm not sure how I would have responded if approached with something. I think those people are dumber than bricks.
Like my take on gays: Just don't tell me. I really don't want to know and it's probably for your protection. I have no problem smacking low life's around.
