Corryn loves to listen to cds when we drive anywhere in the van. One cd she loves is a Disney CD that has songs from many different Disney movies. She always makes me play one of the songs over and over again. The song is “Lets Get Together” from The Parent Trap.
She always asks what movie the song is from and we always tell her…then she insists that we have to go buy The Parent Trap. We finally rented it for her and she liked it. I just laughed at it.
Char or Bryan…I lost your address. Please send it to me and I’ll get you your Lollygag.
We spent a little while actually playing on the beach today and it was fun. Corryn still isn’t ready to have the waves wash over her feet yet but she loves playing in the sand. I had fun playing with her. Here is a picture of her using her tools to tear down the beginnings of dad’s sand castle.

We call him Cap’n Jack. Corryn doesn’t like him but she tolerates me when I want her to pose with him for a picture. She tolerates me on a lot of things. I’m glad. We had a lot of fun today. This has been the first vacation since she was born that she has really enjoyed. She has been getting enough sleep and is enjoying the idea that she gets to do completely new things…its my favorite vacation with her so far.
Corryn likes Nathan. I’m still trying to figure out if I like that.

We’ve taken lots of pictures of Corryn recently (it really helps that our job requires us to have a camera with us all the time). Here are some that I like…with a little commentary:
Corryn spends lots of her time in the van with us when we are out working in the field. It is lots of fun to have her with us…she is a great conversationalist. I’m sure she gets sick of being in the van all the time. I know her mom and dad do! Here she is removing her shoes immediately after being strapped into the van. This is standard operating procedure.
Speaking of shoes…
This is a rare picture of Corryn after she has fallen asleep while playing. She almost never does this. She usually tells us that it is time for her to take a nap and then has us put her to bed. This is fun because you can see what she likes to play with most. Her bear…a frisbee…and shoes. Corryn loves shoes.
I’m afraid that shoes aren’t Corryn’s only love. She is smitten by Nathan…both figuratively and literally sometimes! Nathan and Corryn can be seen here playing poker on the unused back-up poker table. We didn’t have enough people this month to have a two table tournament so the kids played with the second table setup. Here you can see Corryn eating a poker chip while Nathan prepares to deal the cards.

This last picture brings up a question…why do I like taking pictures of my kid when she is asleep? Maybe because it is so nice to have a quiet moment that I subconciously want to record the moment. Maybe it is because she looks so peaceful when she is in dreamland…even if she does snore like a chainsaw. No…the real reason I like taking pictures of my kid when she is asleep is it is the only time she is finally holding still long enough for me to get a good picture of her.

I found one more picture I wanted posted. It is another picture of Corryn in the van. She liked to play while we are waiting for mom or dad when they are doing an home appraisal inspection. Her favorite thing is to select a new CD for us to listen to when the van starts up again. She always either choses a disney CD or Nightmare Before Christmas. Even I’m starting to get sick that last one…we’ve listened to it quite a bit lately.
Note the messy hairdo Corryn is sporting. She hates having elastics in her hair. It is always in her face. She doesn’t seem to mind so we let her be…she only gets ticked off when we try to do something with it.

Dan has an interesting post up on his site describing the moral and cultural shortcomings of muslim extremists. The people he describes are absolutely dusgusting.
I’ve thought many times how strange it is that there are people who can’t see clearly why there is such a difference in the level of morality displayed by the Islamic terrorists and American troops.
Recent events involving abuse of Iraqi prisoners of war cleared much of this confusion up for me.
