“He is the very model of the modern GOP”
Hmmmmmm…I think I’ll pass on Mr. Romney.

Excellent blog, very clean looking. As far as the modern Republican Party, very unclean.

Jeremy, I’m disappointed in you citing an uninformed source. Anyone who knows anything about Massachusets politics knows that the Big Dig is a disaster created decades ago (1970 to be exact) and has been bungled up ever since. This is not a problem Mitt created, but one he inherited.Though his comment is blatently honest, he’s right, he would be wrong to not ask the federal government for money at every opportunity. The Big Dig is a money pit wrought with problems and scandals before Mitt ever took office. There has been sooo much money wasted away in the Big Dig, the only resolution may be to get the money one needs to dig out of one of the worst fiscal and planning disasters in Mass area in recent years.

Sorry Brett,
Didn\’t mean to disappoint you but you should know that I could only support a Republican presidential candidate who at least sounds like a Republican. In my mind someone sounds like a Republican when say things typical of Ronald Reagan. You know…people who outwardly support smaller government and more reliance on local government rather than federal? Romney\’s comments didn\’t sound the least bit like anything Reagan would say and yet I\’ll bet you $5 he will try to favorably compare himself to that real republican president at leat 10 times before the Republican primary. Romney is as full of it as any other presidential contender and the fact that he has to ask for federal funds to fix the big dig mess is something he should be embarrassed about…not proud of. Or should I just be supporting the guy because he LDS?

Jeremy, stick to the issues instead of sweeping with the broad strokes. I don’t care whether Romney runs for president or not. We already know he has no intentions of running for re-election for Governor. What I do care about is you using such an uniformed source to pass your judgment on someone who is considered in many circles as a good man, regardless of his religious preference or political affiliation. Your better than that, you were raised on Davis County water and graduated from Weber State. Always remember that I love you like a brother.

Just so you didn’t think I forgot your roots, you also partook of those holy waters from Morgan County in your youth.

Brett,
Morgan water is clearer and cleaner than Davis county water. I miss it so. It sure is nice to be back in the best part of utah west of the wasatch mountains though! Davis county. Did I tell you that I work for the Davis County Assessor’s office now and that I am responsible for appraising all of Bountiful’s new growth every year? Really fun.
When are you going to return to your roots and enjoy a cool glass of mountain water with me…instead of the sludge you guys dredge out of the Rio Grande!?
My post said I’d pass on Mr. Romney. I meant that in the political sense. He might be a good guy but he sounds like a lousy candidate…thats all. The source you claim as “uniformed” simply quotes the guy in context. Romney sounds pretty wrong-headed in that quote.
Congratulations on your new kid!!!!

Ha ha. Whatever, your source is quoting him out of context no matter what you say. If your source were to quote him in context, the only full proof way of doing that would be to witness the press conference so that one would understand why he said it with tone, inference, body language, and perception. To take his quote out of context and label him as the face of the modern GOP is a stretch. Oh well, this dialogue on Mitt is becoming very tiresome. You win you stubborn Demo-Libertarian-Not-So-Repulicano.
We are considering a return to fresh mountain waters in the not so distant future. However, nothing is set in stone, yet. We do love that cold water and bone chilling milk, there’s only one brand of milk down here that even resembles the good stuff, they have up in your neck of the woods.
Thanks on the congratulations. It’s going to be interesting to see these two boys grow up because they have a striking resemblance (its almost like twins born 21 months apart).
