The Haunted Mansion Backstory
This post is mostly for my Brother-In-Law Michael but I’m a pretty big Disneyland/World fan too.
Tune in to DoomBuggies.com on Halloween for the original Haunted Mansion backstory as originally conceived by Disney Imagineers. The Haunted Mansion is my second favorite Disneyland ride.

We took our kids to Disneyland two years ago ago about this time of year. I loved the Haunted Mansion ride as a kid, and had been on the one at Disney World. Imagine my surprise when I rode it ad Disneyland in the fall of ‘04. They had redone the whole Haunted Mansion in a Nightmare Before Christmas theme. I hated it. I thought they ruined it.

I love Disneyland - we say we’re only going to go every 3 years, but we’ve been in 1997, 2000, 2001, 2005 and 2006, each time for 3 days. I think we would have gone more often, but there was a baby in 2002. Next planned trip is October of 2008, but I’m trying to convince my husband that another Thanksgiving in the park would be great!
I love the Haunted Mansion. I hate it when it’s got the Nightmare Before Christmas overlay, probably because I’ve never seen the movie. I did get to see it this summer with the new Black Widow Bride parts added into the attraction. It is still great!
My favorite rides: Splash Mountain, Pirates of the Carribean, Haunted Manison, Peter Pan.
DCA: Soaring Over California, Grizzly River Run, Tower of Terror.
This year, I also saw the fireworks for the first time. They were incredible. I’ve never seen Fantasmic (my husband thinks the show times are great times to go on the busier rides). And, I am on record as HATING ToonTown. Every single part of it.

Although I must agree it’s a very good ride, for a scary ride.
