I won’t be posting much here over the next few days.
I’ll be doing my small part to help out at Utah Amicus while Rob Miller is gone. He’s spending time away from blogging fulfilling his responsibilities as Utah Democratic Party Vice Chair. I’ll try to provide links on this site to all the posts I do there.
As you can probably tell this site is undergoing some major renovations (including a new blog engine!). It should be up and running with semi-regular updates soon!
I paid the bill for another year of hosting and decided I might as well do something with this space I’m paying for every year.
With all of the work I’ve put into this site to keep it spam free (daily maintenence) you’d think I’d put in the minimal additional effort required to keep it up to date. Well…I’m going to try to start doing that now. This site is now officially active again. We’ll see if that lasts more than a day…or a week or two. What do you care…most of you aren’t reading this site anyway!!!
Something came up today that made me think philosophically about what I want this site to be.
This is my site. I do it because I like to post my opinion on topics and I like to have a place outside of my head to store my thoughts. If readers agree or disagree with my opinion they are free to leave well thought out comments. Most of the time I’ll respect those comments and I almost always respond to acknowledge the commentor’s point of view.
Comments that are left for the sole purpose of annoying me or those which do not contain a reasonable argument will be deleted without acknowledgment at my discretion as will all spam comments.
I like thoughtful discussions.
I don’t like troll comments…they will be deleted.
Thanks,
The Management
OK…I know I’ve done more than enough name changes in the past little while but I found another site that had a similar name to mine…and they had it first. This site is similar enough in purpose to mine that it would be lame of me to keep the old name here. I even thought of using the same picture they have in their banner on my site before I found out they were using both the picture and the name. Oh well.
There are some other sites that use the word jeremiad in their name but none of them are run by someone name Jeremy (at least as far as I’ve been able to discover) so I am back to having a good original name for my blog. I like the new name…I am planning on it being permanant. I might even change my URL to reflect the new name. We’ll see…
The old site was too dark and dismal. Maybe I’ve gone too far in trying to fix that? Oh well…I don’t care. I’m working on a custom template now anyway so hopefully the site will only be like this for a little while.

I’m thinking of renaming the site. I am pretty sure I’m going to go with the title of this post for the name of my page. I’ll probably keep the URL the same so I don’t lose links but I never did like the name of my site.
Of course…it is almost 1:30 AM this could be a terrible idea. Hopefully when I wake up and read this I’ll have enough energy to know if this was a good idea…or if it was something really lame I came up with when I was delerious with exaustion.
I decided to give the site a little bit of a face lift. I was bored with the other colors. I’ll do this every once in a while just to keep anyone who ever checks this site guessing.
This entry represents a new beginning for Jeremy’s soapbox. I’ll leave the other site up but only for archive purposes and only until I can figure out how to export those entries into this new and improved blog! Now I can add pictures, which I have really wanted to be able to do…and I may even be able to add video and audio to some entries. We’ll see. Anyway…welcome to the new site! I’ll enable comments on posts I want to hear from anyone on so feel free to add your feelings. I would also like to be able to link to the blogs of friends who happen upon this site who have their own web journals so please email me if you want to be linked!!!
