I saw my dentist on TV this morning offering free dental work for people who can’t afford to pay for it. We need more people like him who are willing to actually do something on their own to solve the problems our society faces instead of turning to government for solutions.
Thank you Dr. Preece. A great dentist and a great example.
I just want to publicly thank Tom at KVNU for introducing me to Jake Boyd, an American hero.
Whether you believe we evolved from apes or were placed on this earth by God one thing man has that sets him apart from the animals is his ability to tell stories. Now is a great time to be alive partly because mankind’s ability to tell great stories has never been as effective as it is now.
I’m home on sick leave today because I had to take a kid in for minor surgery to have tubes put in her ears. In celebration of the time off my wife and I sat down with our recovering kid and watched last Sunday’s episode of “Battlestar Galactica” and last Monday’s episode of “Heros” together.
Both were excellent. Especially “Heros”. There is enough story in that one show to make 6 great movies. If you haven’t been watching it you really should consider buying the series on DVD when it comes out this summer.
We cancelled Netflix because we found that most of our TV time was spent watching shows we’ve recorded on the DVR. Lisa was so excited for the new TV shows that are now starting that she put together a spreadsheet of all of the new shows and when they air so we could record all of the new series we thought might be interesting.
The first two on our list are the Fox shows Vanished and Justice.
I’m terrible at writing reviews of TV shows and movies but I’ll give a quick synopsis of each new show Lisa and I watch and will rate each on a scale of 5. 1 = This show bites. (”CSI:Miami”) 3 = I’ll spend my precious TV time on this show but won’t hesitate to dump it if it gets even slightly lame. (”Lost”) 5 = I won’t miss an episode. (Sci Fi Network’s Battle Star Galactica)
